pincSPOTTER - Real-time Location Reporting of Your Assets in the Yard

An integral component of the YARD HOUND™ product suite, pincSPOTTER is designed to improve the efficiency of yard operations through PINC Solutions' RTLS technology. By keeping track of the trailers and yard trucks locations in real-time, custom alerts such as detention charge warnings and performance reports such as yard truck and lane utilizations can be generated automatically to streamline your yard management processes.

With pincSPOTTER, you will have real-time visibility into your yard, updated continuously through automated yard checks carried out by the yard trucks. Your yard manager will always know where the trailers are, not having to lose time searching for the right trailers. Yard operations will not be the bottleneck, and can stay synchronized with your warehouse operations. Productivity of yard trucks and drivers can also be improved through constant monitoring of their activities.

How pincSPOTTER works

pincSPOTTER is easily installed on the yard truck and requires no additional infrastructure in the yard. To begin tracking your trailers, a pincTAG (a passive-RFID based tag) is affixed to each trailer, and the associated trailer information is entered into the system. The tag attachment can be permanent or temporary upon check-in at the gate. In addition, a pincSPOTTER tracking unit is installed in each yard truck. As the yard trucks perform their regular duties around the yard, the real-time location of the tagged trailers are automatically recorded as the yard trucks drive by the trailer. Additional sensors and processors onboard the yard truck provide further information to paint a live picture of the yard by YARD HOUND's servers.
